Mahoba. A review meeting on school infrastructure and facilities was held at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Ms. Gazal Bharadwaj. The meeting reviewed issues related to waterlogging, access roads, school infrastructure development under the Kayakalp initiative, identification of dilapidated buildings, and high-tension power lines passing over school premises.
During the review, the District Coordinator (Construction) and Block Education Officers were unable to provide clear information regarding waterlogging, access roads, dilapidated buildings, and high-tension lines at schools. Expressing strong displeasure over the matter, the District Magistrate directed the officials to discharge their responsibilities with due diligence.
The District Magistrate directed that all dilapidated school buildings be verified within 10 days and that necessary demolition action be ensured. She also instructed officials to submit, within the stipulated period, detailed reports on issues related to waterlogging, access roads, and high-tension lines, along with their specific causes.
The DM further directed that the assessment and demolition of dilapidated school buildings be completed within two weeks. She also ordered that the salaries of the concerned Block Education Officers and the District Coordinator (Construction) be withheld until the required information is submitted.
The District Magistrate made it clear that there will be no compromise whatsoever with the safety of children in schools. She warned that strict action would be taken against responsible officials if any negligence is found.
