NewDelhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Khelo India Dialogue on August 27 at 11 AM through video conferencing. The programme, being organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) as part of the National Sports Day 2026 celebrations, will bring together sports, youth leadership, civic responsibility, volunteering, fitness and nation-building on a common platform.
The nationwide programme will see participation from young people at two colleges in every district across States and Union Territories. The initiative aims to provide youth with an opportunity to engage with India’s sporting journey, share their aspirations and contribute ideas towards building a stronger, youth-led Viksit Bharat.
The programme is being organised in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of building a fit, disciplined and sporting nation while placing the aspirations of young people at the centre of the country’s development agenda.
Following the national programme, local interactions will be held with young participants, MY Bharat volunteers, local sportspersons and public representatives. Youth interested in sports will also get an opportunity to interact directly with leading Indian athletes and medal winners.
A key component of the initiative will be Yuva Samvaad, where young participants will present their ideas, perspectives and aspirations. The dialogue will focus on five key themes:
- Strengthening India’s sports ecosystem through better facilities, coaching, sports science and inclusive participation.
- Preparing talent for the 2036 Olympics through scientific talent identification, transparent selection and long-term athlete development.
- Developing youth leadership through governance platforms and volunteering initiatives led by MY Bharat.
- Empowering youth for Viksit Bharat by promoting civic responsibility, future-ready skills and structured volunteering.
- Building a Nasha Mukt Yuva movement by using sports and peer networks to combat substance abuse, supported by weekly Jan Bhagidari activities under the Prime Minister’s 100-week nationwide campaign launched on August 2, 2026.
The Khelo India Dialogue is aimed at creating a direct platform for young people to contribute to India’s sporting ambitions and ensure that their ideas and aspirations remain part of the ongoing conversation on the country’s youth and sports ecosystem.
